Fiery orange nails with OPI Deutsch You Want Me Baby? (Plus a FOTD!)

As recently promised, I'm bringing you another polish from the Fall 2012 OPI Germany collection!  This is Deutsch You Want Me Baby? and I think it's the perfect Fall color.

Of course, not like it has to be Fall for me to wear a glowy orange on my tips!

This dries very true to bottle but it does show brush marks easily.  Mine has some pretty visible stripes so you need to keep your hand steady when painting this one on your nails.

This reminds me of a glowing fire or the leaves of a tree changing color.  I think this would look really nice with a silver glitter on top, or maybe even a red glitter.

You can see my brush stroke veering off to the right on my middle finger.  Ignore the sloppy job - I was just wanting to swatch this color but it's not my final destination for the night!

I have a review for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Want You To Want Me palette coming up later this week but I played around with some of the pieces and thought I'd share my FOTD today!

Liquid eyeliners will be the death of me - how do they work?!  I wish I could get the hang of them, but for now I'll take this rather shoddy cat eye look.

I layered Members Only and Graphic T's as my two shadows for a nice, matte look which would make the liquid liner pop.

I decided to do a dramatic lip because why not?  I thought about adding some gloss but I watched "Titanic" last night and was super-obsessed with Kate Winslet's matte lips throughout.  I update the look by using matte pink.

Here's what I used:
- Neutrogena Shine Control Primer
- Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in N117
- Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream in Fair to Light (as an undereye concealer)
- tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder
- tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Adventurous
- Lorac TANtalizer Baked Bronzer
Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
- Urban Decay Primer Potion
- Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadows in Members Only and Graphic T's
- Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid eyeliner in Jet
L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions mascara (not pictured)
- Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow gel
- Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in Berlin

XOXO

Mascara and primer from tarte and a FOTD!

Let's talk about mascara, baby!  If I had to pick only three things to last me the rest of my makeup life it would be sunscreen, eyeliner, and mascara.  Seriously, I don't own a ton of mascaras but it's one of the few items that I have to wear.

So I just HAD to nab this $10 steal from Sephora's Black Friday sale.  This has a full size

tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara ($19) and a mini size tube of tarte MultiplEYE Clinically-Proven Natural Lash Enhancing Primer ($22 for full size).

This is an incredible value but it doesn't seem to be on Sephora's website anymore.  I still thought I'd review it since you can buy the tubes by themselves on Sephora's website.

The mascara comes is a wooden tube.  It might be bamboo?  I actually really like the novelty of it and like how the tube feels when I hold it.  Plus, it seems easier to grip the wand when applying the mascara.

The wands are a nice design and not big and clubby like some wands.  (I hate those clubby things!  So unwieldy!)

So how does it work?

Here's my eye with the primer on the left and bare lashes on the right:

Mascara over primer on the left, bare lashes on the right:

Primer and mascara on both eyes:

This creates lovely, fluttery lashes that hold a curl incredibly well.  Check out the side view:

I think this mascara is really amazing.  I love the fluttery way my lashes look after application.  I think the primer does a really nice job of amping up the mascara and making my lashes longer.

Here's a Face of the Day (FOTD) that I did using this mascara and primer:

Products used:
- SolBar PF 50 Sunscreen
- MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light
- tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian clay finishing powder
- Benefit Coralista boxed blush
- Too Faced Snow Bunny Bronzer
- Urban Decay eyeshadows in Sidecar and Smog
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Hustle
- tarte Maracuja lip gloss in Nuria

tarte MultiplEYE Clinically-Proven Natural Lash Enhancing Primer

- tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara

I wanted to go with a nice, neutral, subdued look since I'm wearing such a sparkly-farkly top!

XOXO

Get gold and red holiday lips in three easy steps!

Red lips are big for the holidays but what's even bigger?  Red and gold lips!  Yes, gold sparkles on red lips are super awesome.

So today I wanted to show you a quick FOTD using three products:

L'Oreal Infallible Le Gloss in The Muse's Shine

Ok, let's get started!  Start with bare, clean lips.

Next, line your lips with the lipliner.

Next, use the mattene to fill in your lips.

Finally, add that super awesome gloss on top.

Voila!  Now you have a super awesome lip look to wear to all your holiday parties.

The great thing is you can pair sparkly red lips with almost any eye look:  black smokey, black cat-eye, shimmery gold, or nude matte.  I used a beautiful gold on the lid and a darkened gold in the crease (Urban Decay Half Baked and Urban Decay Smog).

Of course, this is a really subdued eye look but I would amp is up for night-time gatherings.

XOXO
