This bright orange Maybelline blush will make your Spring!

Today I wanted to show you two Maybelline Color Goes Electric LE blushes:  Coral Burst and Golden Fuse.  An electric orange blush?  Count me curious!

These beautiful blushes cost about $7.50/each when I found them at Walgreens.  I haven't had any luck finding them in CVS yet.

The orange is glorious and can be built up to an amazing, deep flush.  The golden color is perfect for a some subtle warmth and shimmer.  I actually used mine as a bronzer but I know many people could pull this off as a highlighter.

Do you need these?  Yes!  Well, you must have the orange blush.  The quality is impeccable and saved me from the terrible lemming I've been having to buy a bright orange NARS blush like Exhibit A.

See if you can find them in your local stores - you won't regret it!

XOXO

Get Carried Away with tarte this holiday season!

Get ready for a super picture-heavy post as I rave the new Sephora-exclusive Carried Away palette!

This thing is an absolute steal!  It's $54 for a $512 value!  Wooo-hooo!

This has 24 full size eyeshadows, eight lip glosses, one blush, one brush, one mascara, and one finishing powder!  Such an amazing value.

Oh, and it comes in an amazing travel kit that you can easily add your own stuff in to when you're traveling.

The shadows are housed in a slim palette that slides behind the large mirror on the inside of the palette.  I think this is a really effective use of space that so many other brands don't utilize in their mega-huge holiday palettes.

Each shadow is named, which I really appreciate.  This palette is a nice mix of neutrals and pops of color.  Plus, I like that they're grouped together in groups of four so you can easily create eye looks.  Sometimes big palettes overwhelm me and I don't know how to create a look.  This takes the guess work out of it!

Left side of the palette
Right side of the palette
You can see that some shades are very neutral and hardly visible.  The shadows tarte produces are buttery and dense but are not nearly as intensely pigmented as Urban Decay or MAC.

Next there are the eight mini glosses:

These are so nice and I really love them!  They taste minty but it's a difficult mint to describe - it almost tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream!  It's amazing.  They all give a MLBB (my lips but better) look.

Gorgeous!
Next the included brush:

You can use this for either the blush or finishing powder - it works nicely for both.  I experienced very slight shedding the first time I used it but haven't had an subsequent shedding after that.

Finally, here are the mascara, finishing powder, and blush:

The finishing powder is white and provides a nice, matte finish.

The blush is in Adventurous and it's a rusty, shimmery blush.

It's a little ruddy on me but if you have a light hand it can look very natural.

Do you need this?  YES!  This is a great holiday palette and the value is incredible.  This would be a nice starter kit for someone who is just getting into makeup or tarte.

This was my last big purchase for myself before the holiday season!  I bought it when it first came out and I find myself reaching for it constantly.  I love the kit it comes in and I like it for traveling.

You can purchase HERE for $54.

XOXO

Natural, matte cheeks with e.l.f. Pink Passion

Remember when I rounded up a bunch of budget blushes?  I mentioned e.l.f. Studio Blush but pointed out that I had never tried one.  However, now I can say I have!

I picked up Pink Passion - a bright, girly-girl pink.  I seriously thought this would be a DISASTER on my face but I've been wanting to attempt it for so long.

Good news - this blush looks incredible on me!  I think only really fair skin tones could pull this off because it might start to look chalky on deeper complexions.

I love the packaging because it's such a blatant copy of NARS.  The little window in the front is a nice touch so you can see which color you're grabbing if you have a few.

The texture is my ideal (which isn't everyone's) because it's firm and dense.  You don't kick up tons of powder with your brush with applying.

This color looks lovely with just a couple sweeps but you could really build it up for more opacity.

I feel like this is nice to have in my stash as I tend to reach for shimmery blushes and this is a true matte.  It looks incredibly natural on my skin - like I'm actually blushing!

This swatch is heavily built up just so you can see the color!
You can purchase HERE for $3.

Are you having a good day?  I can't stop listening to this Bob Dylan cover by Ke$ha.  It's so sad and melancholy but I just love it.

XOXO

You'll be blushing from NARS Orgasm!

I do love a good tongue-in-cheek product and NARS Orgasm fits the bill!  But this is a PG-13 blog so we'll keep it classy!

This is one of the most love-it-or-hate-it products in the whole beauty world.  I think most people love it and I am firmly in the "love it" camp!  (Detractors think it's too sparkly and that the sparkles can emphasize pores.)

Sephora describes Orgasm as "peachy pink with shimmer" and it's rumored to be the color of your face after...umm...moving on!

This is an absolutely gorgeous shade!  It works on almost anyone and can be built up for lots of intensity.

If there aren't enough sparkles, you can always advance to Super Orgasm!  Yowza!  (Super Orgasm has gold glitter!)

You can see that my pan is very well-loved!  I wear this almost every single day because I believe it to be so flattering.  When I go to purchase other blushes, I find myself unconsciously comparing them to Orgasm!

Do you need this?  Well, if you don't mind shimmer in your blush then I'd say YES!  I think this is such a classic staple.  If you're just getting into higher-end makeup, this is a great place to start since it's pretty universally flattering.

You can purchase HERE for $28.

XOXO

Benefit Coralista is a natural beauty

Oh, Coralista!  I mentioned this wonderful blush on my 10 Things I Would Replace Immediately post.  Seriously, this blush is amazing!

There are a few makeup things I know I'll always love:  orange lipstick, purple eyeshadow, and coral blush!  Why?  Because coral blush goes well with everything!

This blush is amazing and is one of the first things I ever fell head over heels for!

This coral has a slight shimmer and can be built up quickly for a bright flush.

Of course, you can go more gently for a natural flush.  Even on times when I've accidentally used too much, it still looks natural.

The included brush is really great, which isn't something you can say about most included brushes.

You can see how wonderful this looks on my skin.  Not only does it look good on fair tones, but I'm confident that it would look good on darker complexions, too.

I've had this blush for well over a year and it just keeps giving!  I use it almost every single day in rotation with my NARS Orgasm blush.  It's really just incredible.

It's $28 for 0.28 oz and you can purchase it HERE.  It's something you definitely need!

XOXO

Jordana blushes are so budget friendly that'll you'll need them all!

Big apologies for being MIA yesterday!  I had a routine doctor appointment and then had accounting tutoring with my dad for 3.5 hours!  I fully intended to write a piece about these wonderful new Jordana Color Tint Blush Sticks but I just didn’t make it.  So, you’re getting the deets today!

L-R
Coral Touch, Pink Adore, Rose Petal, Apple Cheeks, Blushed

I wrote about these before in my post on budget blushes and I finally caved and ordered some online.  I am loathe to pay shipping but I did it anyway because I just couldn’t resist these cuties.  They’re $2.99 each and the shipping was $5.  (I hate when the shipping is more than the product!)  I picked up five of them because I wasn’t crazy about Bronze Glow.

 L-R
Coral Touch, Pink Adore, Rose Petal, Apple Cheeks, Blushed

I ended up with Blushed, Coral Touch, Rose Petal, Pink Adore, and Apple Cheeks.

These are wee little things that are too adorable for words.  I really love how small and portable they are – very travel-friendly.  Plus, you don’t need a brush to make these blushes work.  Simply swipe them on the apples of your cheeks and then blend out with your fingertips.

Top L-R Coral Touch, Pink Adore, Rose Petal
Bottom L-R Apple Cheeks, Blushed

These take a couple of swipes to reach full intensity, which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it.  Personally, I think the beauty of a cream blush is that it’s difficult to overdo it.  You can slowly build to just the right color.  If you’re into really flushed cheeks, you may be annoyed that you have to swipe it a couple of times.  (Apple Cheeks is really the only exception to this!)

Coral Touch, Pink Adore, Rose Petal, Apple Cheeks, Blushed

My favorite is Coral Touch, of course!  I’m obsessed with coral blushes.  My second favorite was Apple Cheeks.  I’ve never worn a true red blush before but I think it looks really nice.  Rose Petal is a little icy and I’m not too sure what to make of it.

These have a pretty strong scent of baby powder, so if you have a sensitive nose they may not be for you.  I know some people get irritated skin from fragrances, so you might want to pass if that applies to you.

Top L-R Coral Touch, Pink Adore, Rose Petal
Bottom L-R Apple Cheeks, Blushed

All in all, I’m thrilled that I purchased these.  They give me a nice flush that last throughout the day.  I will say that they last much better on top of primer and foundation than just on bare skin.  I tested them on bare skin one day and they seemed to slide around and not dry down.  Not cool.

Do you need ‘em?  Yes!  They’re cheap!  My order total was less than $20 for five blushes that I consider to be high quality – that’s a steal!

These aren’t available in stores at the moment but you can order them online HERE.

What color would you want to nab?  Do you think you could pull off Bronze Glow (unlike me)?

XOXO
