Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream is *totally not* a BB cream!

Everyone knows I love BB creams!  (Check out my other reviews HERE!)

So I couldn't resist grabbing a bottle of Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream in Fair to Light.  I have to be excited about an oil-free BB cream since the Korean ones usually have oil.

I grabbed this from a CVS aisle thinking it was $8, but when I got to the counter it rang up as $13.  Turns out they had mispriced them on the shelf but the great people at CVS gave it to me for the discounted rate anyway!

This promises six "skin perfecting benefits": refreshes, brightens, evens tone, hydrates, smoothes, protects.

With an SPF 15 level, I have to say the "protect" claim is pretty dismal.  (Especially when you consider that you would have to wear a lot to protect your face fully.)

I wish I could rave this harder...but it's just not a BB cream.  It's more like a barely tinted sunscreen.  I don't even want to call it a tinted moisturizer!  I feel like this does a nice job blurring some minor imperfections, but it really doesn't provide any coverage at all.

This feels nice, silky, and light on skin but don't expect coverage and don't expect staying power.  This starts to fade after about two hours so touch-ups are necessary.

Unfortunately, this turns to Shine City literally 45 seconds after application.  Powder is a MUST with this product.  So, using powder kind of ruins the idea of applying more later.

Still, on days where my skin is looking particularly good I can get away with this.  I also like to use this on the weekends when I'm going for a "no makeup" look but still want to have some minor coverage.

Innisfree Jejubija Anti-Trouble BB Cream has a troubling scent

Today I'm bringing you another BB cream!  (Shocker, right?)  I'm just on such a roll with these BB creams and I love them so much!

Today I'm showing you InnisFree Jejubija Anti-Trouble BB Cream.  This stuff seems to be the odd man out of the group of BB creams I got in my South Korea haul.  Not that that's a bad thing!  This stuff seems to be quite runny and a little more...orangey?  

Like (almost) all BB creams, this one contains a high SPF level of 35.  Love that!

It has a very liquid texture that blends quickly into skin.  You have to work fast with this baby!  I like to dab some all over over my face and then work on patting it in.

The coverage is wonderful and quite nice.  My skin can really breathe with this BB cream.  

Here's my biggest problem with this product:  the smell.  I can't quite describe it but it's very synthetic and unpleasing.  It almost smells like a synthetic pine smell, if that makes sense!  Fortunately, I can only really smell it when I'm applying the product and it seems to disappear after application/dry-down.

Do you need it?  Well, I'm glad I have it in my arsenal for days when I'm wanting a BB cream that feels quite light.  However, I think the smell might be enough to put some people off of it.

My friend Amy hauled this back from Korea for me but you can purchase it HERE for $12.99 + $4.40 shipping.  This is a ridiculous mark-up and I really think you should pass unless you're just dying for it.  If you can find someone in Korea who can snap it up for you, go for it.

Skin 79 BB Cream is the holiest product in my Holy Grail arsenal!

I've been delaying writing this post because it feels so important to me!  Lol, I know it's silly but this BB cream has made such a difference in my skin that I want to do it justice!

I'm talking about Skin 79 Super+ Beblesh Balm.  I own both the Triple Function (affectionately known as "Pink Label") and the VIP Gold Collection ("Gold Label").  These two BB creams are so similar that I decided to just review them together.  You can buy Pink Label HERE ($13.78) and Gold Label HERE ($7.99 + $4.99 shipping). 

This is a true Asian BB cream, meaning that it comes in just one shade selection.  BB creams are meant to be used as a primer and foundation, which I really think these deliver.  Both deliver whitening, wrinkle improvement, and UV protection with SPF 25 PA++.

This stuff is AMAZING!  It's creamy and dense and provides medium coverage, which you can build to full coverage if you wish.  When I'm in a hurry, I just smooth a little of this under my eye area instead of concealer and it works amazingly well.  

This BB cream will stay on all day long.  Seriously, your skin will still look amazing at the end of the day.  Now, these BB creams are NOT oil-free but somehow they still work for me without breaking me out.  They do have a dewy finish, so you may want to top it off with a bit of powder to tone that down.

I think the only difference between Pink Label and Gold Label is that the Gold Label is a little creamier and more moisturizing.  I think I'll turn to this more in the winter months when my skin is a bit drier.  (The Gold Label may just be a little bit warmer than the Pink Label, but it's a minuscule difference.)  I wear the Pink Label as part of my daily routine and it's a Holy Grail product, to say the least.

The best method for application is to pat, pat, pat.  Rubbing or smoothing it on doesn't work as well - just pad it into skin and it will absorb quickly.  

A little goes a long way and I've had this Pink Label bottle since MAY, people!  That's right - I've been using it about 80% of the time for almost five months and it's still going strong!  Ridiculous!

Do you need a bottle of Skin 79 BB cream?  YES!  You do!  You will love this stuff as long as you fit in the narrow shade range.

Do you use BB cream?  Love it?  What do you think of Skin 79?  I want to try the Orange Label but I'm not sure it will be different enough from the Pink or Gold to warrant a purchase.

How's your day?  Today, I got caught in a Wiki-hole.  Has this ever happened to you?

Lol - I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has experienced this!  Anyway, today I'm bringing you a BB cream that I'm loving!

My dear friend, Amy, brought this back to me from South Korea and I'm so glad she did.  This is Etude House BB Magic Cream and it's $4.59 + $7.49 shipping on Amazon HERE.  This is the "refreshing" one that is good for oily skin.  Perfect for me!

I quite like the formula on this one - creamy and easily blendable.  The dispenser is great and pumps out just enough product. 

Like any foundation, you probably want to start with just a little bit and build.

You definitely need to click on the swatch to see just how flawless this BB cream is.  You can see that my skin looks positively blurred and flaws are minimized.  It looks great on my face and blends nicely into my skin!

Do you need it?  Probably!  I think this is a nice introduction to BB creams because it's quite creamy, more like the foundations we're probably used to here in the States.

10 things I would repurchase immediately

If you've ever gotten into watching beauty Youtubers, you'll know that they're a lot like beauty bloggers, except they exclusively produce videos.  I'd say that's how I first got into the world of beauty as a hobby - I watched instructional videos about beauty techniques!  

I have a lot of respect for beauty Youtubers because they do a lot of creative things with their channels.  One thing you'll se pretty often is "tag" videos, where a person comes up with an idea for a video and then tags people so they'll make a similar video.  (These often take the form of a list of some sort.)  

One type of tag video that has floated around is the "10 Things I'd Repurchase."  The idea is simple:  if you were to lose ALL of your makeup collection tomorrow, what would be the first ten things you'd repurchase?

When you have a pretty large collection, this can be a tough question!  (I got mine down to eleven and finally gave up and took out my Sephora crease blending brush.)

Anyway, here are my ten products I would have to IMMEDIATELY repurchase!  (Click on the listed price to purchase.  If the product name is linked, it means I've written about it before and you can click to read.)

1.)  Milk of Magnesia - $9.39 - I've already explained how much I love this product.  I need this as my primer in the morning!

2.)  Skin 79 Super Beblish Balm Pink Label - $13.79 - This is my Holy Grail BB balm (and foundation).  It applies like a dream, stays all day, and doesn't break me out.  It's seriously perfect.  I'm planning an in-depth review, so look for that soon.

3.)  Urban Decay Primer Potion - $9 - This is the sample bottle I received with my #4 item!  Lol.  UDPP is a HG product for many, many people.  It goes on creamy and makes your eyeshadow stay in place all day long!

4.)  Urban Decay Naked palette - $50 - OMGGGG.  Do you have this yet?  If you don't, step away from your computer and drive to the nearest Ulta or Sephora and buy it.  No really, go.  I'll wait.  Ok, you're back?  Good.  Seriously - it is amazing.  This is the ONLY palette you need if you want nice, neutral looks or smokey dramatic eyes.  You can't go wrong with nudes and neutrals.

5.)  Benefit Coralista Boxed Blush - $28 - This blush is so lovely.  Trust me - it was a toss up between this one and NARS Orgasm blush.  However, I picked this one since it has an included brush and if I lost everything in my stash I would need a brush!  

6.)  Too Faced Caribbean in a Compact Snow Bunny Bronzer - $29 - This is the best bronzer I've ever come across.  It has four stripes of color which keeps it from being too orangey.  This is my HG bronzer and I couldn't be happier with it.  I would have to replace it!

7.)  Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil in Strawburn - $22 - I've talked about this baby before.  I need it, have to have it, can't live without it anymore.

8.)  Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner in Demolition - $19 - Wow, 30% of the products on this list are UD!  They really are my favorite brand EVER!  This color smudges easily and stays all day long.  I really love how easy it is to apply without tugging or dragging.

9.)  Fairy Drops Scandal Queen mascara - $24 - This is one of my biggest indulgences.  It's just too amazing and makes my eyelashes look a million miles long.  Review forthcoming, I promise!  

10.)  Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler - $19 - I had used a cheap, terrible eyelash curler for six years (SIX YEARS, Y'ALL!) before I purchased this one.  I knew I deserved it, after using crap for so long.  Beauty bloggers all over the internet sing the praises of this baby and for good reason.  It's so good that it's unreal.  You can create incredibly dramatic curls with it.

So there you have it!  These are the 10 products that I'd have to replace right away if I lost them!

Reader Question: Covering Dark Circles

Today I have another reader question!  These are seriously my favorite posts to write.  (I have another reader question sitting in my inbox that I swear I'm going to answer soon.  I just want to make sure I have plenty of pictures and diagrams for that one.)

Here's what reader A.M. asked me:

"I have really terribly chronic dark undereye circles (totally unrelated to how much I sleep, which is a lot).  I'm pretty over it.  I put concealer on them but it really only tones it down just a little.  What is the best way/makeup for covering that up/what creams etc have you heard recommended on other blogs or wherever for minimizing them in general?"

Great question!  I have dark circles occasionally, too.  Today they aren't so bad, but I decided to do a walk-through on some of the products I use to cover up mine.  I haven't reviewed ANY of these products, but I will eventually.  First, let's look at my bare eye:

You can see I have some darkness at the inner corner.  Like I said, it's not too terrible, but still something I'd like to try to cover.

First, I put on some moisturizer with SPF.  Then, I put on my Skin 79 Super+ Beblesh Balm BB Cream VIP Gold as my foundation and spread some under my eyes.  You can see that the reduced some of the darkness, but not all.  (You can purchase Skin 79 Gold HERE for $8.79 + $4.49 shipping.)  

Next, I added some Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Flexible Coverage Concealer in Vanilla.  

(You can purchase this concealer on Too Faced's website HERE for $20.)  The key is to use just a small amount and blend it in.  You can always build it up more, but adding too much at the beginning will make your eyes look cakey.    

To finish the concealing, I patted on some Wet n Wild Natural Blend Pressed Powder.  The compact comes with a small sponge that's very great for application.

Another option for even heavier-duty coverage would be Missha Signature Extreme Cover Concealer with SPF 30 or Benefit Erase Paste.  The Erase Paste is very pigmented but didn't work for me because it was just a little too oily for my oily skin.

 Here's some other tips that you probably already know:  get lots of sleep (although you said that isn't a problem), drink your recommended water intake, and keep your under-eye area moisturized.

This BB cream is just peachy!

Today I have another Korean BB cream to share with y'all!  This gem is Holika Holika Peach Girl BB Cream with SPF 37.  (37?  What?!)

  

Anyway, odd SPF number aside, this BB cream is really fantastic.  

The formula is a nice liquid - not thicky and creamy like a lot of BB creams I've tried.  This one feels more like liquid foundation, but I really like it.

The color sinks nicely into my skin and stays put all day.  I really love how long BB creams stick around and this one doesn't disappoint.  The best application method is the pat, pat, pat into your skin.

And what's this?!  A cream blush in the lid?  With a mirror?  As RuPaul would say:  SICKENING!

I've never used cream blushes but I was happy to try this one out.  Just dab a little on your cheeks and spread out with a finger.

Unfortunately, I feel like you need quite a few layers to really make the blush pop.  

One last thing - maybe it's all in my mind but I really think the foundation smells a little like peaches!  

You can purchase this BB cream on Amazon HERE for $13.99 + $6.99 shipping.  I think that's a pretty high markup from retail but unless you have a Korean friend, it may be difficult to get.  All in all, I really like this; however, I don't feel like I can recommend it due to the pretty high markup from retail.  If you can get this from someone in Korea, go for it.  If not, save your ~$21 for something else.
