Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer

Please forgive my scuffed up tube today!  Sephora has much better product picture HERE.  This is Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer in Vanilla.

One of my complaints is how the lovely packaging seems to scuff up and wear away with use.  Of course, that has nothing to do with the product inside the tube.

Vanilla is a nice yellow color that requires some TLC when blending.  You'll want to use just a small bit and build up.  Sometimes I mess up and use too much, which causes it to bunch up in my tiny, fine lines.

There are three color choices so you might have some trouble finding a color to match if you're darker-skinned.

This formula is creamy and will probably perform best on normal skin - not dry, not oily.

Like I said, you can buy this HERE for $20.

XOXO

Will Benefit The POREfessional work for you?

Oh, pores.  Sometimes I really, really hate you.  I am cursed with super-large pores (partially due to genetics and partially due to over-scrubbing) that clog up super easily.  I'm constantly on the lookout for a product to hide them.

Enter this mini sample of Benefit The POREfessional.  This "pro balm" promises to "minimize the appearance of pores."

So, the million dollar question:  does it work?  Well, yes and no.

Yes, the product does a decent job of minimizing my pores at first application; however, I'm so oily that I feel that the product gets slicked off by mid morning.  I see noticeable pores by lunchtime.

Of course, if you're not as oily as me, you might really love this product.  It dries down to a nice, powdery finish.

My other complaint is that this just hides pores - it doesn't really clean them out or minimize them in the long run.  It is oil-free, though, so you're not adding to the problem.

Do you need this?  Well, if you have dry or normal skin you'll probably enjoy it.  For oily skin...you might want to keep up the eternal quest!

You can purchase 0.75 oz HERE for $30.

XOXO

Meet some of my favorite scents!

Do you know there are fragrance bloggers?  Yes, there are bloggers who devote almost all their blogging time to fragrance!  I think that's awesome because my nose is not nearly as trained as their noses!  I get jealous when I read the glorious descriptions they write!  I pretty much just like what I like!

So today, I'm bringing you my Marc Jacobs fragrances gift set that my mom gave me for Christmas.  I LOVE this thing and use these scents in rotation.  They include (descriptions taken from Marc Jacobs Fragrance's website):

Daisy
Fresh and feminine, Daisy is a playful bright and alluring scent. Daisy captivates with the luscious freshness of wild strawberry, then blooms with the modern vintage edge of velvety violet petals and finishes with a luminous blend of gardenia and jasmine. The white accords of birch and cedarwood add a bit of intensity.

Top notes: strawberry, violet leaves
Mid notes: violet petals, jasmine bouquet
Base notes: musk, vanilla infusion

Daisy Eau So Fresh
Daisy Eau So Fresh has a charming twist on our classic fragrance, Eau So Fresh is more fruity, bubbly and more fun than our classic.
Top layer: Natural Raspberry, Grapefruit, Pear
Mid base: Violets, Wild Rose, Apple Blossom
Dry base: Musks, Cedarwood, Plum

Lola
Sexy with a fun flirtatious wink, Lola is playfully alluring and irresistibly tempting. A warm floral bouquet with a signature note of luscious fuchsia peony.
Top notes: pink peppercorn, pear, ruby red grapefruit
Mid notes: peony, rose, geranium
Base notes: vanilla, tonka bean, musk

These are all rollerballs, which is probably my preferred method of perfume application.  You can be very precise with a rollerball!  My favorite scent out of the trio is Daisy Eau So Fresh.

The caps are neatly labeled so you can know which is which with ease.  I keep these in one of my repurposed Pantone Color of the Year boxes and can only see the tops.  It's easy to grab the right one!

I get compliments all the time when I wear these, especially Daisy Eau So Fresh!

This set was around $38 - I don't know the exact amount because it was a gift.  The two Daisy rollerballs are $20 each individually and the Lola one is $22.  That's $62 so this is a good deal.  Plus, as I said, I've been using these exclusively since December 2011 and they're still going strong!

Do you need this set?  Well, I would recommend checking these out at your nearest department store, Ulta, or Sephora first.  Make sure you like them before you pick them up!  Plus, be looking for more holiday deals that are sure to crank up really soon!

XOXO

SolBar PF 50 Cream is a wonderful sunscreen!

Today's product isn't glamorous but it's totally necessary!  So, I'll soften the blow with a funny for the day:

Ha!  Cracks me up every time.

Anyway, on to today's product:

Yep - sunscreen!  Y'all know how I feel about sunscreen.  It's necessary for protecting yourself and keeping your skin looking young.

This is SolBar PF Cream 50 Sunscreen.  That's right - 50!  You can buy it on Amazon HERE for $9.29 + $1.70 shipping.  I paid $11.79 for mine at CVS.  You won't find it on the regular shelf - you'll have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter.

This recommendation comes from my dermatologist when I asked him to recommend a non-greasy, non-oily daily sunscreen for my face.  I am very pleased with it as it dries down nicely and isn't greasy. Plus, I can't detect a smell.  This is a wonderful product.

Pick some up next time you're at the pharmacy!

Harajuku Lovers G is one of my signature scents

I have a fascination with Gwen Stefani.  Not only is her music wonderful (both solo and with No Doubt) but also she seems so classy.  She is super talented - she sings, she designs clothes, she creates fragrances, she is a model mother, and she never appears out in public looking like a fool like some celebrities.

I have a mini collection of her Harajuku Lovers perfumes.  I only collect the G fragrance because it's so me.  (She also has Love, Angel, Music, and Baby.)  However, the G fragrances have many subtle variations and that's why I need them all!  Here are the three I own:

Harajuku Lovers Fragrance Snow Bunny

All G fragrances have similar notes:  mainly coconut, mandarin orange, red, apple, sandalwood, and freesia.  Yummy!

     Harajuku Lovers G

Harajuku Lovers Sunshine Cuties G

Here are the three I don't have:

-Harajuku Lovers Wicked Style G

I really want G of the Sea.  I'm not going to provide monetary descriptions for these because you can so often find them deeply discounted at TJ Maxx, Ross, or Marshalls.

The Forsaken Shimmering Body Veil is my new guilty pleasure

Today I'm showing you an amazing product that I won in a Musings of a Muse giveaway!

This is the Forsaken Shimmering Body Veil and it's available only through HSN.  You can buy it HERE for $31 (+ $4.96 shipping).

Forsaken is a fragrance line tied in to True Blood.  I've never watched True Blood before, but I'm positively crazy for this body veil!

I thought that a fragrance line connected to a TV show would be disappointing.  I figured the smell would be cheap and easily passed over.  However, I was proven wrong!

This smell is amazing!  Here's the fragrance description from HSN:

  • Top Notes: Dark Blackberry, Anjou Pear, Blood Orange
  • Mid Notes: Night Blooming Jasmine, Sheer Violet, Black Plum
  • Base Notes: Ebony Wood, Amber Crystals, Patchouli, Vanilla

The blackberry and pear thrill me.  But this scent isn't overly fruity.  It's sexy and mysterious.  It's seriously unlike anything I've smelled before.  It smells expensive, too.

I wore this out the other night and I kept getting compliments on how wonderful I smelled.  I find myself reaching to sniff it in the morning!  Lol.

You can see that the sparkle isn't anything crazy - just a light shimmering glow.  I remember my mom letting me use her Estée Lauder body veil before my middle school and high school dances.  Ahh, those were the days!  ;-)

Anyway, this my new guilty pleasure.  The scent is so delightful and I'm actually putting the perfume on my Christmas list this year.

You can check out the whole collection HERE.  It includes nail polishes, lipstick, and a body cream, too.

XOXO

I'm having a nightmare with this Wet n Wild Fantasy Makers eyeshadow palette

I have the same attitude with makeup that I have with people - I try to find something good about everyone.  It takes a lot for me to totally discount a person or a makeup product.  I have only ever completely thrown away about two products.

Well, make that three.  This Wet n Wild Fantasy Makers eyeshadow palette is completely rubbish.

I picked up 12471 Fairy Flight.  This contains what I thought were some amazing shades.  I was thoroughly disappointed.

Not sure why I swatched these so wonky compared to the palette but oh well!

Right column
Left column

Now, I thought these would be like the amazing Wet n Wild Color Icon palettes that I've reviewed previously.  NO.  These are nothing like those gems.  These are creams:

Now, I've looked all over the packaging and I can't see anywhere that these are listed as creams.  I thought I was getting dry shadows.  Disappointment overload.

These. Are. Terrible.  I tried a couple super-dramatic eye looks but just gave up after seeing how nasty these are.
Yes, I have the lime green shadow on.  You can barely see it!

The faded, patchy application.  The instant creasing.  Just...eww.  I did an eye look with the black and white but it was so awful that I just took it off without taking a picture.

These are so terrible - do not purchase!  I haven't had experience with Fantasy Makers before but never again.  I will say that I used the white color on my tear duct for a black smoky eye the other night and it lasted decently - but not well.

I'm not even providing a link to purchase because I seriously can't recommend it.  This monstrosity was $4.29.
