Get a Megawatt Smile with Hard Candy lipstick

It's an unfortunate truth that orange lipstick/gloss can often make your teeth look a little yellow.  (It's a risk I'm willing to take, dears!)

Anyway, Hard Candy has decided to include a teeth whitener with their new lipstick.  This is Megawatt Smile Lipstick + Tooth Whitener in Coral.  Of course, this lipstick comes in lots of colors so you can make your pearly whites even whiter!

The lipstick has a moisturizing core of clear balm and is attached to a pot of whitener with a small brush.

Can I attest to just how much this makes your teeth whiter?  Not really - it's hard to tell if you aren't consistently using it.  The taste is decent - slightly lemony in taste and smell.

I have to say that I adore this color.  It's orange, shimmery, balmy, and long-wearing.  It has a nice slip that still manages to stay in place.

Do you need this?  Heck yes!  I love it - you can find it in Walmart for $6.  Buy it HERE.

XOXO

Candy Apple lips with Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter!

I have a strange love-hate relationship with drugstore lipsticks.  Sometimes they're just so drying and sometimes you stumble upon a really fantastic one.  Well, add this Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter to the love list!

The amazingly talented Muse from Musings of a Muse sent this to me when I won the Forsaken Shimmering Body Veil in her giveaway.  I'm glad she did because I'm not sure this is something I would've picked up for myself.

This lip butter provides very light coverage but I wouldn't say it's sheer.  The color is really beautiful - don't let the red bullet intimidate you.

This comes across as a really nice orangey-red flush on lips.  It's shiny and balm-like.  Seriously, my lips feels really hydrated when I wear this and the wear-time is really great - about 5 hours.

I'm so glad the Muse sent this to me because I totally would have passed this one over but it's now one of my favorites!

I detect a slight fruit-punch scent but no taste.  The scent fades fairly quickly.

I'm going to say that you need this!  Seriously, it's awesome!  If this color isn't your thing, at least check out the other shades in this formula.

You can purchase HERE for $7.49.

XOXO

I'm seeking bright orange lips with MAC StyleSeeker!

Have you seen any of the new MAC StyleSeeker collection?  I'm in love with the mattene lipsticks and lipglasses.

I've only picked up one of the mattenes because I didn't know what the formula would be.  Now that I've tried this one, I'm so tempted to order two more colors!

I grabbed Fashion Nomad, which MAC describes as "bright red orange."  That is definitely a good description!

The other colors I'd like to have are Eden Rouge (bright blue-red) and Camden Chic (rich brick red).

Eek!  It's just too wonderful for words!  The mattene lipsticks are supposed to give you a semi-matte finish and be very hydrating.

When I hear "matte" I immediately think drying; however, these glide on easily and stay moisturizing the entire wear-time.  Fashion Nomad lasts about four-five hours on me, which is remarkable!

These are $15 for 0.08 ounces, which is slightly smaller than a regular MAC lipstick (0.1 oz).  Plus, the mattenes are not part of the permanent collection, so you might want to snap them up now!

I seriously love this color and this formula.  I can't even begin to describe how great they are!  Long-lasting, moisturizing, colorful -- what more could you want?!

This gets my serious approval!  A+!  You can pick up one for yourself on MAC's website HERE.

XOXO

Milani Orange Gina is a rare gem

I have a confession.  The lipstick I'm reviewing today…well…I have three tubes of it.

Milani Color Perfect Lipstick in Orange Gina

I know, right?!  Crazy!  Most makeup mavens don't stockpile unless the product is limited edition (LE) or being discontinued.  However, this Holy Grail product was incredibly difficult for me to find in the first place!

Story time:  I saw this color on another blog (I don't remember which) and had to have it.  I tore up every CVS in a 15 mile radius and NONE of them have Milani lipsticks.  What the heck?!  So when I went to visit my BFF in Texas, I found one there and freaked out!  Unfortunately, there was only one tube.  *sad face*

Then, when looking at Milani nail polishes when I got back to my local CVS, I saw five tubes of lipstick crammed in a corner like some forgotten stepchildren.  Upon further inspection, I saw that two of the tubes were Orange Gina!  OMG!  I snapped those suckers up.

This power product is Milani Color Perfect Lipstick in Orange Gina.

So, even though Orange Gina isn't discontinued or LE, I now have a mini stockpile.  Fortunately, this color is amazing in every sense.

When I was picking a name for this blog, this lipstick just kept popping up in my mind.  It's everything I love:  orange, attention-getting, smooth, semi-opaque, and with coppery shimmer!  Just perfection.  The color is bright and vibrant with awesome staying power.  This is a surprising "neutral" because it looks good with almost any color of eyeshadow.

This really sings on my pale skin and I bet it'd be gorgeous on really deep complexions.

I bought mine at two different CVS stores but you can nab it on Milani's website for $4.99.

You'll flip over Revlon Orange Flip

I think we can all agree that packaging makes a big difference when it comes to how we feel about a product.  However, as much as I hate the tacky green color of this lipstick tube I just have to love the product inside.

I'm talking about Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick in 710 Orange Flip.  The product has a creme finish that I adore.  This lipstick just makes me soooo happy!

However, the tube reminds me of a grandma.  The gold band with the forest green?  Ick.  Just icky.

This tube does have a great design feature, though:  a clear top.  I think the thing I hate most about opaque tubes is not being to see the ACTUAL color from the outside.  (Of course, you can see the sticker on the bottom but how often is that actually representative of the color?)

Isn't the swatch gorgeous?  I think it's perfect on lips.  This is one of my go-to colors when I'm wanting a quick swipe of orange.

The formula is great and long wearing:  it's smooth and creamy without migrating into lip lines.

I bought my tube off of Amazon for $6.74 and it was eligible for free Amazon Prime 2-day shipping.  By contrast, the tubes were approximately $9.80 at my local CVS.  I love me some Amazon!

The tube is 0.15 oz.  I definitely recommend picking one up!

First post, y'all!

What better first post for a blog named Orange Lipstick than one that explores Sephora's Tangerine Tango lipgloss and lipstick offerings?  This $14 pack of four lipglosses is part of 2012's Pantone Color of the Year.

Now, I'd like to mention that I was on the orange trend waaaaay before it ever even became a trend.  It all started with an orange purse that kind of became my trademark in 2006.  Then, I got an orange car…to match my purse.  (Kidding.  Sort of.)  It all went downhill after that with orange clothes, shoes, purses, scarves, passport covers, wallets, jewelry, etc.

*ahem*

So where was I?  Oh, yes.  So, I have to say that when orange became a huge trend it was both exhilarating and sad.  I was excited that everyone was finally catching up with my beloved color and sad that it would eventually go "out of trend."  (Not like that would stop me from rocking it forevs.)

Nevertheless, I couldn't resist picking up the set of four lipglosses and one lipstick.  Without further ado, here they are:

 Left to Right
Tangerine Tango Opal
Tangerine Tango Vivid
Tangerine Tango Glaze
Tangerine Tango Luminous

Left to Right
Opal, Vivid, Glaze, Luminous

You can imagine that my favorite of the group is Vivid.  The color is a great "traffic cone" orange that just looks amazing.  Be careful, though - this one loves to migrate to teeth.  Be sure to blot after applying!

Of course my least favorite is Glaze.  I understand what they were going for - not everyone can pull off a ridiculously orange lip.  I think the idea was to have something to pair nicely with the lipstick.

Opal and Luminous look similar when swatched, but as you can see Luminous looks much more opaque on the lips.

The lipstick is named Tangerine Tango Cream and goes for $13.  As fantastic as it looks in the bullet, it isn't opaque on the lips.  I like to pair it with Opal.  Pairing it with Vivid is just overkill and honestly the lipstick gets lost in Vivid.

My only complaint is the lipstick is a bit slippy and there is a strange and unknown grit to it.  I have no idea where that comes from but I don't like it.

How do you feel about Sephora's Pantone Color of the Year collection?  Loving it?  Did you haul any of it?  I have to admit the brush roll called my name but I resisted.

XOXO
