Zoya Song will have you singing the blues - in a good way!

Today I have a polish that I'm just ridiculously in love with!  Seriously, this was love at the very first brushstroke.

This beautiful blue is Zoya Song.  I first saw Song on The Crumpet's blog HERE but for some reason I never thought to order it until recently.

This color is awesome because it's not a bright, royal blue but it also isn't navy.  This is just a really nice midnight blue with royal blue shimmer.  It's so subtle but it gives the polish incredible depth.

My nails just look like deep, little pools of water!  I love this polish!

Yesterday I wore a neutral top with gold accents and used this as my "accent color."  I can't wait to try layering Zoya Gilty over this.

You can pick it up on Zoya's website for $8 HERE XOXO

Reader Question: Milani Orange Gina in polish form

After my post about Milani Orange Gina yesterday, a dear friend sent me this question:

"Is there a nail polish in this color?" -P.M.

This got me lacquer hunting (always a dangerous thing) and led me straight to Temptalia’s swatch gallery.

I take no credit for actually discovering these dupes – I found them all by looking through the swatch gallery and various other Temptalia posts.  If you can believe it, I didn't have ANY dupes in my own stash.  Boo-hoo!

Perhaps it is no surprise that Milani has a color that coordinates beautifully with Orange Gina.  That would be Metal Gear ($4.49) which has beautiful orange and gold-ish shimmer.  I think this is the best possible dupe and it has a friendly price tag, to boot.  Plus, I love the formula on Milani polishes!  (I can’t find this polish on Milani’s website but I believe you can pick it up in select CVS stores.) UPDATE:  I can't find this polish to purchase ANYWHERE!

Next is Zoya Tanzy ($8).  It seems to have a similar color but much more shimmer.  I think this is a BEAUTIFUL color!  It's bright and eye-catching.  You can purchase Tanzy HERE.

The next option is Nubar Arencia ($8) which is absolutely gorgeous.  I haven’t gotten any Nubar polishes yet but I’ve only ever heard raves.  I think Arencia is a little darker than Orange Gina but it definitely has the same je ne sais quoi.  It is absolutely lovely and you can purchase it HERE.

Another nice pick is China Glaze Riveting ($2.81 + $1.99 shipping on Amazon; price varies by location, but this is a great deal).  This came out with the Hunger Games collection and represents District 3 for technology.  I wanted to adore this collection, but something about it was off.  Maybe it was because there was a bunch of drama over the names or because the idea of people worrying about polish in ANY of the Districts was absurd.  (Except of course, for The Capital.)  Anyway, this color is wonderful put side-by-side with Orange Gina and I think it's my favorite one.  It's for sale on Amazon HERE.

So there you have it!  Four beautiful polishes that really evoke Orange Gina and that I think would match really nicely.  Be sure to check out Temptalia’s swatch gallery – it is really incredible!

XOXO

Fall Lemmings!

Fall collections are already starting up!  Yay!  Fall is the most exciting makeup time, I think.  Vampy colors are coming back into play along with deep bronzes, browns, earthy greens, burnished golds, and taupes.  LOVE.  I grow weary of the neons and electric colors of Summer collections.  (Plus, wearing my favorite deep eggplant color on my nails just doesn't feel right when it's a bajillion degrees outside.  In Fall?  Oh-so-right.)

What fall collections are you eyeing?  I'm lemming* really hard for the new Too Faced The Return Of Sexy Eye Shadow Palette.  I think the palette is elegant and comes with some really practical colors.

It is $48 and according to Sephora's website:

This set contains:
- 15 x 0.035 Eye Shadows
- 0.04 oz Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Perfect Black
- 0.17 oz Deluxe Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer

I don't buy anything that expensive without having swatched it first so I'll
be on the hunt for it at my local Sephora so I can play with it before
purchasing.

You can check it out and purchase it HERE.

In the nail world, I'm loving the Fall collection that Zoya has put out.  I don't have any Zoya polishes yet but I'm going to remedy that ASAP.  Zoya Daul and Zoya FeiFei from the Fall 2012 Diva collection are calling to me! You can check out AMAZING swatches of these two gems at a blog named Scrangie.  This is one of my all-time favorite beauty blogs.  Check it out HERE.

These beauties won't be available on the Zoya website until July 15, according to Scrangie.  Not sure if I'll order from there or if I'll scout them out in Ulta.

In the "Fall collections I want to love but just don't" category is Bobbi Brown Desert Twilight Collection for Fall 2012 and the new-for-Fall Urban Decay Smoked Eyeshadow Palette ($49).  Even though the Smoked Palette's shimmery emerald color Loaded is softly saying my name, I just can't shell out $49 for one color.

What Fall goodies are giving you major lemmings?  What are you "meh" about?  Are you eager for Summer to stick around or are you dying for Fall?XOXO

*Lemming is a beauty term for desperately wanting a product!  For example, "Ever since I saw those NARS blush swatches on Temptalia I've been totally lemming!"
